Car parking in Pontypridd

Parking places are extremely limited and unfortunately there are not enough spaces for all our students. Please use public transport, or, alternatively, you can park in Pontypridd.

Below, you can find a map and instructions to reach a selection of public car parks in Pontypridd.

Car Park 1: Sardis Road

Long stay car park: up to 4 hours: £1 / over 4 hours: £2

• Directions after leaving the A470 travelling North
• Take the right hand lane on the bridge and follow the road around to the right
• Continue forward onto the Broadway ( A4058) following the yellow signs with a blue ‘P’ which will take you to the car park
• Bear to the left and at T junction turn left onto the A4058 – signposted Town Centre, Rhondda Valleys
• Forward through the traffic signals
• Forward through the traffic signals, take left hand lane
• Take 1st exit up the hill onto Sardis Road – signposted Pencoedcae
• Arrive at Sardis Road (the car park is on your left. It costs £2 to park all day)

Car Park 2: St Catherine’s Corner

Approximately 50p for one hour/ £8 all day

• Directions after leaving the A470 travelling North
• Take the right hand lane on the bridge and follow the road around to the right
• Continue forward onto the Broadway ( A4058) following the yellow signs with a blue ‘P’ which will take you to the car park
• Bear to the left and at T junction turn left onto the A4058 – signposted Town Centre, Rhondda Valleys
• Forward through the traffic signals
• Forward through the traffic signals, take right hand lane
• Follow the road around to the right
• Arrive at St. Catherine’s Corner. The car park is on your left hand side.

Car Park 3: Goods Yard

Long stay car park: up to 4 hours: £1 / over 4 hours: £2

• Directions after leaving the A470 travelling North
• Take the right hand lane on the bridge and follow the road around to the right
• Continue forward onto the Broadway ( A4058) following the yellow signs with a blue ‘P’ which will take you to the car park
• Bear to the right and at the traffic signals turn right – signposted Merthyr Tydfil
• Take the left hand lane and take the first exit onto the slip road
• At roundabout take your first exit – signposted Pontypridd
• At traffic signals continue forward
• Turn right before the pedestrian signals and follow the road around to the left (around the back of the bus station)
• Take your next turning right up the hill to the car park

Car Park 4: Berw Road Multi Storey

Long stay car park: up to 4 hours: £1 / over 4 hours: £2

• Directions after leaving the A470 travelling North
• Take the right hand lane on the bridge and follow the road around to the right
• Continue forward onto the Broadway ( A4058) following the yellow signs with a blue ‘P’ which will take you to the car park
• Bear to the right and at the traffic signals turn right – signposted Merthyr Tydfil
• Take the left hand lane and take the first exit onto the slip road
• At roundabout take your first exit – signposted Pontypridd
• At traffic signals continue forward
• At traffic signals turn right onto Berw Road. The car park is on your left hand side.

Please note if travelling South on the A470, exit at Pontypridd and follow the map for car park directions.

The University of Glamorgan is approximately a 25 minute walk from the car parks. Alternatively you can catch a train from Pontypridd to Treforest which takes approximately one minute and is only one stop away. Trains leave Pontypridd every 20 minutes.
